Fullstack Job: Front End Developer

Rental Escapes is one of the leading luxury vacation rental companies in the world with an inventory of more than 4000 luxury homes in North and South America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Australia. Founded in 2009, Rental Escapes is an established and profitable company currently employing 30 people in Montreal. Our business has grown tremendously over the last few years as demand for private homes surges.

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced front-end developer with an entrepreneurial spirit and propensity for problem solving. You will get to work closely with designers and users accross different departments to help build modern and user-focussed interfaces for our website, mobile app and internal tools. The front-end developer will not necessarily need to design the esthetics of the interfaces, but should have good attention to detail and have a good understanding of how users interact with our products.

This position is based in Montreal, QC and will offer flexibility to balance a combination of remote and office-based work.

Responsibilities:

• Work with full stack developer to create views and front-end funcionality for our website and internal web-based tools
• Maintain and develop new screens and functionality for our mobile application using React Native.
• Maintain our developer and store accounts for ios and android.
• Work with marketing to update website content from time-to-time to reflect new promotions and marketing content.
• Perform some light PHP coding and bug-fixing

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Web Development or equivalent education/experience
• 2 years experience as a front-end developer
• Mobile application development experience using React Native and experience publishing applications to App Store and Google Play
• Experience working in a LAMP environment
• Good knowledge with front-end frameworks and languages such as basic javascript, HTML and CSS; jQuery and jQuery ui; Bootstrap; SASS/SCSS
• Experience using PHP
• Experience using Codeigniter Framework (ideally) or other frameworks
• Experience using Git
• Good English communication skills and generally comfortable communicating and working with non-technical people
• Being the type of person that enjoys solving problems

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
